Abstract

The project’s overall aim is to promote social inclusion and combat the exclusion of young people living in the Priority Intervention Neighbourhoods of the Beato parish, by developing personal, social and professional skills that facilitate their active participation in the community and integration into the labour market. Culture is used as a tool for acquiring both transversal and specific competences, addressing youth challenges identified in various social diagnostics, such as exclusion, lack of training opportunities and school disengagement. The project seeks to create opportunities for artistic and creative expression that foster autonomy, communication, creativity, teamwork and leadership. By involving a network of partners – cultural associations, schools, social institutions and artistic organisations – it connects with and strengthens existing local initiatives. The creation of mutual support networks, informal youth groups, cultural outputs, the audiovisual documentation of activities, and the mobilisation of new funding lines will contribute to the sustainability and consolidation of practices. Thus, A ’hood Scene aspires to transform Beato into a more creative, inclusive and supportive territory, promoting cultural diversity as a driver of social development and empowering young people as agents of change.
