In the city of Barreiro, bivalve harvesting represents a common strategy of survival. This informal business has been practiced by low-income and unemployed migrant and non-migrants with common experiences of precariousness. A Terra do Nunca is a house of former fishermen and harvesters that brings us urban narratives about how precariousness is repeated between generations. Within the framework of diversity studies in Portugal, questions of uncertainty are still poorly explored. Starting with an ethnographic approach on the fluvial beaches of Barreiro - places of conviviality, harvesting and business –an itinerary of local contingencies based on the life trajectories of these harvesters will be taken into consideration. This research will be carried out in dialogue with a literature that addresses the phenomena of instability caused by the current global economic and financial system, while allowing us to understand sociabilities that arise among harvesters in the face of an uncertain future
