Portugal is an exemplary case of migrant-centred and decentralized policies. ACM, together with local municipalities have a track record of innovative initiatives to support migrants access employment, healthcare and school. However we bear witness to the challenges faced by public administration, NGOs and civil society to effectively scale such interventions.
The implementation and continuous improvement of the Migrant Support Line and the Migrant Integration Support Centres requires that all staff feels, and is motivated and trained to deliver these services. These are some of the challenges we anticipate and would like to work with the IOM project team. The team will lead the sub-project "Integration of foreign workers. Facilitation of focus group discussions".
