The main objective of the investigation is the spatialization and spatio-temporal correlation of two emerging urban phenomena, urban rehabilitation made by urban licensing and Airbnb, one of the most significant peer-to-peer accommodation platforms in the city of Lisbon.
The absence of studies on the relationship between spatial distribution of urban permits and Airbnb, involving georeferenced databases, makes the development of this investigation with direct application to the urban planning process relevant and relevant.
The methodology focuses on the use of spatial analysis of GIS to estimate the distribution and correlate the variables, urban renewal and Airbnb, throughout the municipality of Lisbon, based on four years of spatio-temporal data (2015-2019).
Airbnb's rental type has disruptive potential for Lisbon's urban rehabilitation. Preliminary studies demonstrate that urban renewal can be modeled based on urban permits, allowing the analysis of the hypothesis of its growth to be related to the expansion of Airbnb
