Biographical Note

VERA AZEVEDO has a degree in theatre from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, a bachelor's degree in anthropology from ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, a master's degree in anthropology from ICS - Universidade de Lisboa and a PhD in anthropology from NOVA-Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas. She was an actress, conducted research on Mozambican theatre in the post-colonial period, and wrote about performing arts. She is a staff member at the Dona Maria II National Theatre, author of the project Sal e Filhos – Gerações do Surf em Portugal (Salt and Sons – Generations of Surfing in Portugal), collaborator with CRIA on the science outreach project CRIAções, and a committed bodyboarder.
