Sónia Ramalho is a PhD candidate in Globalization Studies at NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities. She holds a Master's degree in Migration, Inter-Ethnicities and Transnationalism and a Degree in Anthropology. Her research interest and publications focus and interrelate problematics such as Gender and Family, Civic Participation, Suffering and Care in the context of the transnacional migrations from São Tomé and Príncipe. She has conduted multisited fieldwork in Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe.
