Biographical Note
PhD candidate in Anthropology at the Institute of Social and Human Sciences (ISCTE) of the University of Lisbon and Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL), with research focused on the Anthropology of Development and Anthropology of Tourism, with a focus on sustainable development. She holds a Master's degree in Tourism and Communication from the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT) of the University of Lisbon (UL) and the Estoril School of Hotel Management and Tourism (ESHTE), focusing her research on education for tourism and the development of skills in intercultural processes arising from tourist encounters. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Literature from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and Universidade Nove de Julho/SP (UNINOVE). She also studied environmental studies through an extension program in Environmental Education at the State University of São Paulo (UNESP) and as a special master's student in the Interdisciplinary Program in Environmental Science (PROCAM) at USP. Professional experience in education, tourism, and the environment as an education and tourism consultant creating, implementing, and guiding environmental study itineraries, workshops, discussions, and events related to the development of socio-environmental and educational projects, using tourism as a tool for developing essential skills for the practice of interculturality. Special doctoral student of the Postgraduate Program in Communication Sciences - PPGCOM - USP, in the disciplines: Communication for Cultures of Peace and Interculturality (2022), Educommunication: Fundamentals, Methodologies, and Areas of Intervention (2023), Communication and Education: Language Mediating Strategies (2023), and Pierre Bourdieu and the Field of Communication (2024). Presentation and publication of an abstract at the XIII International Tourism Congress. Publication of the article "Tourism as an Instrument of Leisure and Transformation" in the journal Argumentos, Vol. 20, No. 1, Jan./Jun. 2023. Work in NGOs with educational projects that use tourism as a pedagogical tool.
