Biographical Note
Full Professor at the Department of Anthropology and Graduate Program in Social Anthropology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil. PhD in Social Sciences (Anthropology) at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (Brazil). He develops research in the field of Afro-Brazilian religions, popular cultures, memory and cultural heritage. More recently, he has dedicated himself to research in the field of memory policies and practices of Afro-religious archiving and collections. Member of the Brazilian Association of Anthropology-ABA. He published "The kingdom of the masters: the tradition of jurema in northeastern Umbanda" (Rio de Janeiro: Pallas, 2006), "From my sheet: multiple perspectives on Afro-Brazilian religions" (São Paulo: Arché, 2012), "Paul Zumthor, memories of voices" (São Paulo: Asymmetry, 2018), "Egbé: ancestry, articulations and heritage" (Natal: Caravela, 2022).
