Keir Martin is Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Oslo and formerly Lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Manchester. He conducted fieldwork in East New Britain Province, Papua New Guinea, which has led to a number of publications, including the monograph The Death of the Big Men and the Rise of the Big Shots: Custom and Conflict in East New Britain. He is also a practising member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and is currently leading a research project Shrinking the Planet: Psychotherapy and the New Global Middle Class.
