Biographical Note
In November 2012 I successfully completed a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Barcelona. In 2013 I was awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Visiting Fellowship for one year in Sociology at the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology, Newcastle University, where I started my postdoctoral research. From September 2014 to August 2015 I continued working as a postdoctoral researcher on a European Research Council funded project (“Transrights”) at the Institute of Social Sciences (UL). During 2016-2018 I was affiliated as a researcher at the University of Cambridge and my monograph Brazilian Travesti Migrations: Gender, Sexualities and Embodiment Experiences was published with Palgrave Macmillan in 2018. I am currently a collaborating researcher at the Centre for Research in Anthropology (CRIA), NOVA/FCSH.
