Jason Keith Fernandes received his Doctoral degree in Anthropology in 2013 for his research "Citizenship Experiences of the Goan Catholics". His Postdoctoral project focused on "Crafting Good Citizens: The Politics of Crafting Indian Citizens from Catholics in Goa", and he is currently a full researcher at CRIA. Perhaps due to his formation, while studying for his first degree in law at the National Law School of India, Jason is interested in issues of citizenship and secularism. His other interests include comparative post-colonial theory, and more recently Catholic theology. Jason contributes with regular op-ed columns to newspapers in Goa and his popular writings are archived at www.dervishnotes.blogspot.com.
