Biographical Note
Humberto Martins is assistant professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. He holds a BA in Sociology from the New University of Lisbon, a master in Social Sciences from the University of Lisbon, a master in Visual Anthropology from the University of Manchester and a PhD in Social Anthropology (with use of visual media), also from the University of Manchester (2005). His main research interests are visual anthropology and studies of protected areas. His doctoral thesis focused on border relations and memory in the Portuguese-Spanish border.
