Biographical Note

Having worked as a social science researcher at the Centre for Research in Anthropology (Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia -- CRIA) from January 2013 to June 2014, and carried out fieldwork in the Cantanhez region of Guinea Bissau, I have in-depth knowledge of West African ethnobotany and Nalú culture, as well as wide experience of biocultural conservation and grass-roots community research with UK institutions. My PhD explored ethnoecology among the Tikuna Indians in the Colombian Amazon, including indigenous resource use, traditional ecological knowledge, shamanism and human-wildlife interactions (specifically with non-human primates). Further to this, I have facilitated cross-cultural collaboration projects supporting regenerative food systems and explored participatory video as a tool for community research projects and skill sharing.
