Biographical Note
Helena Machado is Full Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho. Her research focuses on exploring the cultural, social, and political aspects of science and technology, particularly in the realm of forensic genetics and artificial intelligence. Recent international publications include "Genetic Surveillance and Crime Control: Social, Cultural, and Political Perspectives" (Routledge, 2021) and "Forensic Genetics in the Governance of Crime" (Palgrave, 2020), co-authored with Rafaela Granja.
