Fernando Magalhães holds a PhD in anthropology, specializing in museology and heritage, from ISCTE-IUL, Lisbon, obtained in 2009. He has been a professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria since 2000 and a researcher at CRIA since 2020, teaching curricular units of anthropology, museology and heritage. His research focuses on studies on the role of heritage in the construction of regional and national identities, on the social and cultural languages of heritage as an instrument of affirmation and production of locality in a globalized world, as well as on the issues of the museology in the contemporaneity.
