Christian specialises in surveying wild primate populations. His research interests revolve around anthropogenic and environmental factors which can impact their distribution. He has spent time working in zoos and in the wild with primates, observing behaviour, feeding, responses to humans and their associated threats. He is currently a part-time PhD student from the UK, focussing on the chimpanzees at Gola Rainforest National Park and how their distribution is impacted by a range of environmental and anthropogenic factors. He has experience of using a range of technologies and techniques to provide such data which can improve conservation management. When not working on his PhD, Christian works as part of an agency tackling invasive species.
