Biographical Note
PhD student in Anthropology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Nova University of Lisbon, she completed her master's degree in Museology and Heritage in 2008 and a degree in Anthropology in 2000 at the same university. She is conducting research on fishermen and fisheries, seeking to understand the interrelationships between humans and the environment. She is a member of the Seixal Municipal Ecomuseum team since 2007, undertaking research and projects on preserving (by studying, cataloguing and documenting) museum collections related to human activities in Seixal territory. She is a researcher on maritime heritage and culture and is responsible for the management of a museum unit (Naval Unit). Previously (2001-2006) she worked at Sesimbra Municipal Museum where she undertook research on fishermen, studies about fishing and milling techniques and accomplished the inventory and documentation of the Sesimbra's fishing collection. In 2014 she received the honourable mention of the Estudos em Cultura do Mar Octávio Lixa Filgueiras Prize (2nd edition) awarded by the Maritime Museum of Ílhavo to her master's thesis.
