Biographical Note

Angélica Vedana is a Brazilian researcher with a Master's degree in Cultural Heritage (University of Minho) and currently a PhD student in Anthropology: Politics and Images of Culture and Museology (NOVA University of Lisbon). She is specialised in difficult heritage, memory, and the intangible and tangible legacies of dictatorships and traumatic events in history, with a Master's dissertation focused on the heritage of the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship and the contestation of the topic in public and political spaces, such as the case study of the Porto Alegre City Hall. She has worked in the field of research as well as in museums, art festivals, archaeology lab and cultural heritage volunteer projects. Some of her interests are intangible heritage, difficult heritage, politics and anthropology of tourism. As part of her PhD, she is researching the commemorations of the 25th of April in the present day.
