The Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa will host the Aula Ernesto Veiga de Oliveira on 24 October from 18:00 to 19:30 at the Auditório J.J. Laginha, Ed. Sedas Nunes. This event will feature Pedro Prista Monteiro, an Associate Researcher at CRIA - Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia, Iscte branch.

In his lecture titled “Memórias de um clandestino - de Tristes Trópicos ao Antropoceno”, Monteiro will reflect on his personal journey in anthropology. Using his biographical (non-narcissistic) experiences, he will offer insights into the discipline and share his aspirations for its future. His recent experimental work with students, involving engaged ethnography, will also be highlighted.
