How do emotional, political, economic and social landscapes change if we place the river at their centre? Thinking through the river shifts anthropocentric and short-term perspectives, enabling us to move forward in conversations that have reached an impasse. RiVER – Other Views of the City is an ongoing itinerant observatory of urban transformations, based on the centrality of the river. Through creative and imaginative interventions, it co-creates and activates a multimodal and ecopoetic glossary of urban space. The experimentation takes place through hybrid community-based artistic interventions, developed together with people of different ages and lived experiences. Interpreting an imagined institution — the Embassy of Floods — children, young people and intergenerational groups imagine alternative futures and presents through the “eyes” of the river.
