About OPal
Through a joint initiative of two research centres — CEI-Iscte (Centre for International Studies) and CRIA (Centre for Research in Anthropology) — at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon, the Observatory for Palestine Studies (OPal) is being established.
OPal is dedicated to the interdisciplinary field of Palestine Studies, representing an important milestone in developing a critical and urgent approach to Palestinian history, society, and politics. It is also a pioneering academic initiative within the European Union in this area.
At a time when the genocide against the Palestinian people has reached unprecedented proportions, OPal reaffirms the importance of combining academic rigour with ethical responsibility.
Researchers, students, and institutions are invited to join the Observatory for Palestine Studies in the pursuit of knowledge, justice, and accountability.
