SUMMER SCHOOL: The Hidden Abode of Social Reproduction: Community, Activism, Art, and Theory
From 29 June to 4 July 2025, Oficina Rua do Relógio in Alcáçovas will host the Summer School ‘The Hidden Abode of Social Reproduction: Community, Activism, Art, and Theory’. This international initiative brings together students, researchers, artists and activists to debate the fundamental role of social reproduction in contemporary society, crossing perspectives from the community, activism, art and theory.
Over five days, the programme includes lectures, panels, artistic sessions and moments of conviviality, promoting mutual learning and interdisciplinary dialogue. The aim is to deepen reflection on the invisible and often unpaid work that sustains the well-being of communities, such as care, household management and emotional support, and to discuss alternatives for the future.
The Summer School takes place in English and is open to anyone interested in these themes. For more information and to register, contact the organising team at coop@oficinaruadorelogio.com or visit Oficina Rua do Relógio in Alcáçovas.
