public.project.abstract

Starting from a work focused on the Jewish quarters and neighborhoods of Casablanca and Meknès, the aim of this project is to investigate the ways of access to urban space, the strategies of cohabitation, contact and conflict, that occur in urban spaces, between Jews and Muslims in Morocco. In particular, this research seeks to interrogate the modifications imposed on Jewish quarters and neighborhoods that occurred with the changing of the historical circumstances that dictated their existence, as well as the creation of new neighborhoods during the colonial period.
