Biographical Note
P. Antunes is an anthropologist working in the fields of anthropology of religion and critical heritage studies. His Ph.D. thesis at the ISCTE was based on an ethnographic research on the revival of the ritual practice of "Encomendação das Almas", a death cult that is part of the Lenten repertoire of popular Catholicism in Beira Baixa. He has developed a sensory methodological approach to the study of affects and perceptions experienced by ritual practitioners in contact with the realm of the sacred. Pedro is a visiting assistant professor at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a researcher at the CRIA. He has recently developed the project on the digital heritagisation of Jewish-Sephardic culture, focusing on the relationship between virtual heritage networks and digital technologies used in the re-articulation of Sephardic identity.
