Jean-Yves Durand (MA Translation Theory, State University of New York; PhD anthropology, U. de Provence) teaches anthropology at UMinho. He has taught at the École du Louvre and was director of the Museu da Terra de Miranda. His research focuses on the relationship between public policies and individual or collective attitudes in certain areas of culture (particularly museums, festivals, intellectual or cultural property and luxurization of crafts) and of health: support or distrust of vaccination (individual autonomy, human rights), stressing the relevance of trustability and recognition.
