Biographical Note
Fátima Santos is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at NOVA-FCSH/Iscte. Her research focuses on religion, spirituality, transnationalism, Buddhism, and migration. She completed her Master’s degree at NOVA-FCSH with the dissertation “É hora de ficar consciente!: Budismo tibetano, meditação e felicidade em Lisboa e Leiria”, which was awarded the Prize for Best Master’s Graduate in Anthropology (2022/2023). She has participated in projects such as OPPORTUNITIES and LEKWILD, as well as in exploratory research within the DIO500 project. She is currently conducting research on Tibetan Buddhism and Sherpa migrants in Portugal, supported by a PhD scholarship from FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia.
