Biographical Note
Elizabeth Challinor holds a BA in Languages and Literature – French, Spanish (Oxford 1988), a Masters in Rural and Social Development (Reading 1993) and a Masters and PhD in Social Anthropology (Sussex 1996, 2001). She has carried out field work in Cape Verde and Portugal. Her research areas include development anthropology, motherhood and migration, public policy and refugee reception. Her current research is on the role of the law in the decision-making of migrants and refugees in Portugal.
