In this article, a recent seminar highlights the crucial contributions of indigenous and afro-descendant women in Latin America as they lead social change and advocate for human and civil rights. These grassroots leaders play a key role in defending territorial and environmental rights while promoting gender equality and access to inclusive education. During the panel titled “Building Afro-Indigenous Affective Networks: Women, Education, and Activism in Latin America,” four activists discussed the importance of creating educational spaces that respect their narratives and incorporate linguistic diversity. The seminar aimed to strengthen female solidarity initiatives and transform formal education through methodologies that encourage freedom of thought. The “affective networks” formed by these women are seen as vital forces for social transformation, both nationally and globally, and their impact is a key consideration for community archaeology.
