On February 27 and 28, the National Museum of Ethnology had the honor of welcoming Kanawayuri Marcello and Auakamu for a collaborative workshop. This initiative provided an opportunity to deepen the understanding of the Kamayurá collections and reflect on archival practices, museography, and object conservation, fostering a rich exchange of cultural perspectives.
The workshop was coordinated by Rodrigo Lacerda and featured the participation of Luisa Valentini from the Kamayurá Archive, as well as Elisabete Pereira and João Leal from the InDigit team. This gathering offered a unique space for dialogue and mutual learning, reinforcing the museum’s commitment to valuing and preserving Indigenous cultural heritage.
This collaboration is part of an ongoing effort to promote cultural diversity and recognize Indigenous communities within the museum and archival fields.
