The Seminar on Statelessness: Rights, Recognition and Inclusion will take place at Iscte, featuring Aleksejs Ivashuk, founder of the NGO Apatride Network, and Nikita Karpenkov, also a member of the organisation.
The event aims to foster discussion on the situation of stateless persons — individuals without a recognised nationality — and to reflect on their rights, recognition, and inclusion. The seminar will be open to researchers, students, lecturers, and members of the public, particularly those interested in anthropology, law, international relations, and human rights.
Organised by Cristina Santinho, researcher at the Centre for Research in Anthropology (CRIA), the event reinforces the centre’s commitment to promoting human rights, diversity, and social justice.
