Gender Knowledge Policy in the South: an international dialogue
On 10 December 2024, the event ‘Gender Knowledge Policy in the South’ will take place in a hybrid format, with face-to-face sessions in room A202 of Iscte, Lisbon, and online transmission to various regions. The event brings together experts from different parts of the world to discuss gender issues, with times adjusted to the various locations: Brazil (10h-13h), Angola and Cape Verde (12h-15h), Portugal (13h-16h), and South Africa and Mozambique (15h-18h).
The opening session will be led by Laura Burocco, followed by presentations by Emídio Gune, Victor Lean and Douglas Silva dos Santos, PhD students in Anthropology, who will bring their cultural and gender perspectives. Líria Castro and Caio Simões de Araújo, the latter a post-doctoral researcher in South Africa, will also take part. Carué Contreiras, a specialist in public health and HIV, will also share his experience. Adilson Semedo, professor at the University of Cape Verde and founding partner of the Macaronesia Institute (IEMAC) will also be on the panel.
