Vanessa Amorim, researcher at CRIA, will be among the speakers at the seminar “Challenges of the Portuguese Sea”, to be held on 15 November at the Ílhavo Maritime Museum.
She will participate in Panel III – Maritime Activities, presenting the paper “The Female Role in the Canning Industry” at an event commemorating the National Day of the Sea, which highlights the role of women in maritime culture.
The initiative, framed within the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science, is organised in partnership with CITCEM (University of Porto) and will also feature the announcement of the Octávio Lixa Filgueiras Prize, dedicated to studies on maritime culture.
An opportunity to revisit and acknowledge the female contribution to maritime anthropology and ethnography.
