Joana Lucas (CRIA-NOVA FCSH) was granted a contract under the 6th edition of FCT's Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus with the project "Resetting the kitchen table: continuity and change in everyday eating among migrants in Portugal". The project proposes a comparative ethnography of situated cooking and food practices among Moroccan and Indian migrant communities in Portugal, from everyday domestic life to ritual spaces in order to investigate how culinary traditions - and migratory cultures more broadly - are recreated, appropriated, and reconstructed in the host country through ingredients, utensils, ways of making, religious restrictions and symbolic dimensions.
