public.project.abstract

The central aim of the project is to promote change in the prejudices and stereotypes that exist and influence the social situation of Roma communities, particularly women. It also aims to promote intercultural mediation and Roma associations as a tool for empowering Roma women. The project also aims to promote information and knowledge of the richness of Roma culture and its appreciation by the community itself and by the majority society, helping to demystify stereotypes and prejudices, with a view to promoting gender equality and opportunities. The aim is also to promote reflection on the situation of young Roma women, both theoretically and practically, with a view to empowering them. The aim is to sensitize university students and professionals to reflect on the problems inherent in the status of women in Roma communities.
