Biographical Note
Mariana Berutto is a PhD Candidate in Anthropology in the joint doctoral program of ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and NOVA FCSH. Her research investigates whiteness and its operations in everyday interactions between quilombola women artisans from the Jequitinhonha Valley (MG, Brazil) and white interlocutors, engaging collaborative ethnography, feminist thought, decolonial theory, and quilombola and Indigenous epistemologies.
