CRIA, together with the Start Social Cooperative, the Union of Refugees in Portugal and other local partners, is part of the “Caminhos para a Inclusão Social” project, which was selected under the Gulbenkian Integration Initiative (2026–2027), through the participation of researcher Cristina Santinho (CRIA Polo ISCTE).

Promoted by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, this initiative supports 28 projects nationwide, selected from 286 applications, with the aim of strengthening civil society’s capacity to develop local, innovative and sustainable solutions for the integration of immigrants, thereby contributing to a fairer and more caring society.

The “Pathways to Social Inclusion” project involves the launch of a mobile unit that will travel around the urban parishes of Loures, providing local support services in the areas of employment, regularisation, health and language skills. It also includes health support activities and community initiatives aimed at fostering social cohesion and bringing people together, such as photography and human rights workshops and neighbourhood discussion groups.
