Biographical note

Degree in Anthropology, concluded in 2007 at the University of Coimbra, with a thesis about processes of heritage promotion and representation of the past, in a Portuguese village, Mina de São Domingos, in Mértola. In 2012, Tânia Madureira concluded a master in Social and Cultural Anthropology, at the same University, with a thesis about the implementation of a project to revitalize pottery in the village of Trás di Munti, Santiago island, Cape Verde. The research analysed practices and discourses on heritage and tradition’s valorisation, their related dynamics of inclusion and exclusion, and local responses to these processes. From 2008 to 2012, participation in the project Diamang Digital (www.diamangdigital.net). From 2012 to 2015, she worked with the ethnographic collections of the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra. Currently, as a PhD student in Anthropology, at the ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon (with an FCT scholarship), she carries a research project in Mozambique, about collections and museums created in the colonial period..
