Biographical note

Holding a degree in Applied Anthropology in Development from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro and a master’s degree in Sociology of Health and Illness at ISCTE-IUL, Rita Rodrigues has worked on various national and international projects in the field of health and development at IHMT-UNL. Currently, she is a PhD student in Anthropology at ISCTE-IUL. She collaborates with the Escola Superior de Saúde, Instituto Piaget (Viseu) and exercises mentoring functions at the Open University in the Department of Social Sciences and Management. The main areas of research interest focuses on anthropology of health and illness, cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, with focus on healing systems, therapeutic knowledge and practices.
