Abstract

In this project we will seek to understand the social relations that are formed, flow and circulate in the area of media production in a migratory context and the production of endogenous and exogenous representations to the migrant group. It will be analyzed the media produced by Portuguese or their descendants (the discussion of the category “Portuguese media”, “media produced by Portuguese” or “media produced in Portuguese language” is a discussion that has already started and is intended to be further developed), that is, an endogenous, self-representational and self-referential media production. The aim is to look inward and analyze the politics of self-representation, diachronically and in three specific spaces (France, Canada and Brazil) and how some representations circulate through different media, how they arise, how they transform, reproduce and consolidated themselves in precise historical moments and how they (re)configure themselves later.
