Biographical note

Doctoral student in Anthropology at ISCTE-IUL and a professor of the State University of Amazonas, where she develops research and extension activities within the line of indigenous ethnology, in dance and tourism courses. Maria Ribeiro works with processes of transmission and resignification of the indigenous culture in urban “Terras Indígenas”, specifically with the Sateré-Mawé people. From these experiences will result a doctoral thesis entitled (provisionally): “Education and culture: the reframing of Sateré-Mawé knowledge in indigenous territory” and, among others, the articles: “Terra indígena: fenômenos socioeducativos e territorialização do povo Sateré¬Mawé em Rio Preto da Eva” on the journal “Quaderni di THULE ¬ – Rivista italiana di studi americanistici” – atti del XXXIII Convegno Internazionale di Americanistica, v.
