Biographical note

Joana Miguel Almeida (1988) has a degree in Painting (2010) from the Faculdade de Belas Artes (Lisbon) and a master’s degree in Anthropology of Visual Cultures (2014) from the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (Lisbon), with the dissertation “Appropriation of the Colonial War Period Private Archive in Portuguese Contemporary Artistic Practice”. At the moment, she is a PhD researcher in the Doctoral Programme of Anthropology Politics and Images of Culture and Museology (ISCTE and FCSH).
