Biographical note

Inês Lourenço obtained her PhD in Anthropology from the Department of Anthropology at ISCTE-IUL, Lisbon University Institute. She is a researcher at CRIA, focusing her main research on the Hindu diaspora as well as on other communities of Indian origin in Portugal, based on an ethnographic work carried out in Portugal and India since 2000. Her research has also focused on other topics, such as the consumption of cultural goods originating in India, with emphasis on Bollywood cinema and dance in Portugal, and the processes of patrimonialization of Indian origin communities in Portugal (Gujarati, Goan and Punjabi), in an articulation between museology and anthropology.
