Presentation
This workshop will provide in-depth guidelines for the CAPSAHARA project team members who will conduct field research in the western Saharan region. The workshop will focus on the debates associated with gender and fieldwork in Islamic contexts, with an emphasis on the Sahara.
Interventions by Maria Cardeira da Silva, Camila Pastor, Elemine Ould Mohamed Baba, Raquel Gil Carvalheira, as well as the project’s PI, Francisco Freire, will give the audience both a global overview of the topics under discussions (concerning the MENA region), as well as a detailed analysis of the Saharan context.
The meeting is open to the participation of all CRIA researchers, and to the general public.
The results of this workshop will form a deliverable to be presented to the European Research Council, and made available to the corpus of researchers associated with this EU body.
